The home of Zes and Mary Scott at 1224 Mohawk Trail is recognized as the January 2012 Yard of the Month.
The Scotts provided the following: “We moved to Richardson in 1962 and into our Mohawk home in 1963. As our front yard oak trees grew, we lost sunshine to our front yard and replaced some of our original plantings and grass with ground cover and less sun-loving plants. We remodeled and upgraded the interior of the house several times. Through the years, we have watched many of the original neighbors move away and seen a resurgence of younger neighbors and the return of young children to our block, which has awakened a sleeping neighborhood. It’s great to live on the Reservation and especially on Mohawk Trail. Thank you for this award.”
