Each month, the Reservation Homeowners Association recognizes homes in our neighborhood that have excellent ‘curb appeal’ based on architectural upgrades to the house and/or landscaping. The home of Pam and Charles Deahl at 1314 Comanche Drive, is recognized as the October, 2013 Yard of the Month. They provided the following:
“We are thrilled to receive Yard of the Month! Our recent update of our front yard was the finishing touch to a complete remodel of our home that began in 2011. We purchased our home in 1999 and by 2010 knew it was time to expand. We hired Justin McMillin of Richardson Residential (and fellow Reservation neighbor) to completely gut the house and add nearly 1K sq. ft. We love our virtually new home and are proud to have made such an investment into this amazing neighborhood.
The landscaping needed to reflect the larger scale of the home and front porch, while finally showcasing our really large, beautiful oak trees. We hired Julie Simons of JDS Landscaping to help us improve what we had attempted to do on our own for years. She was able to keep or transplant several of our shrubs, while opening up the beds and adding new things like Ligularias, Abelias, Pittosporums, a Japanese Yew and a Japanese maple.”
